April, May, June 2016 Newsletter
Dear Sara Friends:
WOW, it’s hot!!! I am sure you all will agree with me on that fact. However, it still does not stop anyone from eating out. Some may find it too hot to cook however; we do not find that to be a sad thing, now do we?
We recently held our first “Round table seminar/social mixer event at the MCM Elegante' on June 13, 2016. We plan to have one every three months, with the next one being planned for September 12, at the Elegante’.
Read further in the newsletter about this exciting event.
Coming again on October 11, 2016 is our annual Chef’s Delight. If you were in attendance in 2015 you know what an exciting time we had with our new mystery game. Some went home with really surprising gift as we ended our game with a cliff hanger on “who don it.” Who knows what is being planned for this year??
SARA is pleased to announce that we will be honoring the first lady of Beaumont. The most honorable beautiful Mayor Becky Ames, so you will not want to miss out on this event. So mark your

calendar, as soon a board member will be contacting you to purchase a table.
The Chef’s Association is working on a scrumptious menu, and we look forward to sharing this exciting evening with all of you.
Hope to see you in October.
I remain your President

Roundtable Seminar/Social Mixer
On June 13th we held our first effort of having a Roundtable Seminar and mixer at the Elegante’. For a first effort we were delighted with the turnout.
We had 48 in attendance with 7 restaurants that were not members of
SARA. We had speakers from TABC Agent and an inspector, Steve Garcia from the Beaumont Health Department. A question and answer session followed with informative answers from the speakers. We appreciate the efforts of the speakers and SARA will be giving them each an appreciation plaque.
We will be having our second session on September 12 at the Elegante’ and welcome every restaurant, bar owner and Associate (people that sell to food services) to join us. You will learn of the many benefits provided by being a member of TRA (Texas Restaurant Association.) We are working on speakers to talk to you about things that are important to you, to help run your businesses everyday with ease and staying within the laws and regulations that everyone has to be aware of and abide by.
